Humbled by Complimentary Words
Anyone serious about studio pottery certainly knows the name and work of Phil Rogers. A British potter, and author of several ceramics books, he exhibits internationally and is highly respected throughout the ceramic arts field. I had the pleasure of participating in an invitational exhibition recently, "Teaware From the Edge" (see January's post), in which Phil was also represented. Perhaps that is how he came upon my work, but, none-the-less, he posted a wonderful comment regarding an image I had previously posted on FB.
Regarding the cup shown below, this is what he wrote: "I think this is wonderful......everything a wood fired pot should be....displays a sense of adventure and controlled freedom."
Thank you, Phil, for such a wonderful compliment. I am truly humbled.
