Workhouse International Ceramic Cup Show

This wood fired and reduction cooled sake cup, shown below, was recently selected for exhibition in "Drink This! Workhouse International Ceramic Cup Show". This exhibition will showcase ceramic drinking vessels by contemporary artists around the globe. The focus of the exhibit is on the variety of ways artists explore the cup, in functional, sculptural, traditional and non-traditional forms. Juror Sam Chung selected 70 works from over 400 submissions. This show opens Wednesday, January 8, 2014 and runs through Sunday, February 2, 2014. Workhouse Arts Center is located at 9601 Ox Road, Lorton, Virginia.

International Ceramics Exhibition

These three wood fired cups were recently juried into the "Cup of Comfort International Ceramics Exhibition", being shown at Halcyon Art Gallery, located in the Swope Museum of Art,

The Cup: An Interpreted Object

These three wood fired cups were recently selected by juror Dick Lehman to be exhibited in The Cup: An Interpreted Object. The show, being held at Gallery Local, 211 S. 5th Street, Goshen, Indiana, opens Friday, November 1st, and runs through Sunday, December 1st, 2013. An opening will be held from 6 - 9pm on Friday, Novemberber 1st.

6th Annual Cup Show: Form and Function

These three wood fired pieces were recently selected to be exhibited in the 6th Annual Cup Show: Form and Function, being held at Gulf Coast State College, in the Amelia Center Gallery. Starbrick Clay National Cup Show

The three wood fired pieces shown below were recently accepted into the Starbrick Clay National Cup Show, juried by Lorna Meaden, who selected 50 pieces for exhibition from more than 270 submissions. The show runs October 25th through November 24th, 2013. A gala opening is scheduled for Friday, October 25th, from 6 to 10 pm. CLAY 2013

This wood fired sake cup was recently juried into the national exhibition "Clay 2013", being held at the Firehouse Art Center in Norman, Oklahoma. The opening date for this exhibition, juried by Stuart Aspry, is September 13th, and it runs through October 19th. FAC Gallery is located at 444 South Flood Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma.

Artifacts from the Inferno

The two pieces shown below were recently juried into "Artifacts from the Inferno", an exhibition of wood fired ceramics to be showcased at the Baltimore Clayworks. Juried by Jack Troy, this show opens with a reception on Saturday, October 5th, 6 pm - 8 pm, and runs through Saturday, November 9th, 2013. Strictly Functional Pottery National

This wood fired sake cup was recently juried into the 21st annual "Strictly Functional Pottery National". Billed as the best in contemporary American functional ceramics, this year's juror was Jim Connell, ceramicist and fine arts professor at Winthrop University. This exhibition will open Saturday, September 14th, and run through Saturday, November 2nd, 2013. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, September 13th. Clay National 2013

The wood fired piece shown below, "Bud Vase", was recently selected for exhibition in the Workhouse Art Center's 3rd Annual Workhouse Clay National Ceramics Exhibition 2013. Juried by Virginia Scotchie, this exhibition of functional and sculptural ceramics will open on Wednesday, July 31st, and run through Sunday, September 8th. An opening reception will be held Saturday, August 3rd from 6 pm - 9 pm.

There were over 690 entries submitted, and only 56 selected.
