Yunomi Invitational 2012
AKAR Gallery, located in Iowa City, Iowa, is hosting their 5th annual Yunomi Invitational. The pieces below are part of my selection of five yunomi that will be included in this year's exhibition. It is an invitational that features 186 ceramicists, each providing 5 yunomi. Traditionally, a yunomi (Japanese) is a form of tea cup which is used in daily, or informal, tea drinking. AKAR hosts this show on-line, and the work can be viewed and purchased through their website. You have to be registered to "log in" for making purchases, but not to view the yunomi. This exhibition runs March 23- April 13. On-line purchasing begins at 10:00 AM, CST, on the 23rd. AKAR's web site is http://www.akardesign.com/
